Chimichurri is the premier sauce of Argentina. The sauce is used on everything from beef, to pork and fish and is prevalent as a table condiment. Usually this is made with fresh herbs, garlic, vinegar and olive oil. Some call chimichurri the "pesto of Argentina". So we took up the challenge to make a dry rub version that can easily be turned into a sauce. And we think we have it! Bursting with flavor with a hint of heat from the red pepper flakes. Salt may be the first ingredient but this is definitely not salty, salt just weighs more than herbs!
To use our Berkmans Spices Chimichurri seasoning with meat as a dry rub sprinkle on 1 tablespoon per pound.
For a wet rub or sauce use 3 tablespoons Berkmans Spices Chimichuri, 2 tablespoons olive oil and 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Ingredients: Kosher salt, smoked paprika, paprika, garlic, oregano, basil, thyme, black pepper, parsley, savory, red pepper flakes
